etchart privado cabernet sauvignon 2007 argentinian wine

The common thought on wine is that the older it gets the more its worth and the more better it tastes. Well actually after speaking to a few people I learnt that actually some wines are actually made to be finished straight away and the longer you wait to open the bottle the worse the wine might actually get. This apparently is true for high turnover wines where the freshnes of the fruit is most desired.

Speaking of ageing I had tried a bottle of Etchart Privado Cabernet Sauvignon a few weeks ago which was the 2010 vintage but managed to get hold of a 2007 and the definetly is a good difference. This wine is okay to let age and you can taste the difference between the vintages with the older 2007 having gained more depth whereas in the 2010 you get more fruit punchy flavours.

Also the name of the wine can throw you a bit as its not a pure Cabernet Sauvignon varietal wine but has small amounts of Malbec aswell – nice wine!
